Boatcovers)
Having a wide range of dinghies
ourselves we are very aware of the importance of keeping them well
protected when they are not being used, and have designed our boat
covers accordingly.
|
Materials |
A high quality hardwearing blue10oz
PVC coated polyester which is chemically treated to
withstand fungus, rotting from bird droppings and is UV
stabilised.
|
| |
10 oz Breathable blue acrylic
fabric which is UV degradation properties are better, looks
smart and feels like natural cotton, more durable
|
| |
We do not use the cheap unsupported
(black) PVC since this material, to have any strength, has to be
thick and therefore heavy, and since it cannot be sewn it is
difficult to get a good snug fit.
|
Why would you want your Boat
cover to breathe ?
To allow moisture to
escape from the boat after sailing. This is ensures the boat
stays dry, and reduces the chance of water ingress into the
boat. |
|
Undercovers |
are manufactured from a navy nylon
which protects the boat from knocks and scratches particularly
when trailing.

Design |
|
|
Flat –
|
- probably the most versatile
cover, useful when the mast is up or down
- a main halyard tie to reduce
water collection and sagging.
|
 |
|
Overboom |
- if you are leaving your boat
in one place for most of the season this is probably the
best cover for your dinghy
- cover fits over the boom
reducing water collection on the cover,
- openings for mast, shrouds,
forestay and end of boom
- vent to aid ventilation
|
|
|
|
Trailing |
-
used on
unstayed masted dinghies eg. Topper, Laser etc – also ideal
for small boats such as Mirrors when travelling, since if
you store your equipment inside it will be protected
-
fits snug
on boat
-
no openings
for mast, shrouds or forestay,
-
but has
drawstring and straps under the boat.

|
Undercovers
|
protect the boat from stone chips,
grease grime, etc while being trailed. The covers are
elasticated with tie lines at regular intervals. |
