A group of enthusiastic young dinghy sailors, bored with their old fleet,
were given the opportunity to list their ideas for a new and modern
dinghy.
The ZOOM8
is an excellent boat for young beginners; safety is our number one
priority combining that with racing speed is the ZOOM8.
The precisely
designed ZOOM8 is a competitive International class recognised
by ISAF, it is well known in Europe as ‘The Olympic stepping stone’ the
move from the Optimist to the Laser.
The
All-Round Dinghy
The beam and buoyancy make it possible to sail ZOOM8 together with an
adult without losing its good sailing performance. The double skin hull
with built-in 150 safety-buoyancy bags makes it unsinkable. Zoom8 is easy
to rig and handle without prior experience -- a real family boat.
According to the
class rules, 2 man racing is allowed, so bring a friend aboard and race!
Easy to Store and
Transport
With its 37 kg hull weight Zoom8 travels easily on a car
roof-top.
A custom designed beach trailer and special hull colours are both
optional.
With safety in mind
the ZOOM8 has been designed to reducing “turtling" when
capsizing. The Sail and rig usually floats and if capsized the Zoom8
remains floating on its side.
This feature guaranties more safety than other dinghies of the same size.
If capsized only a small amount of water will be caught onboard. This can
then be automatically emptied through the self -bailer.
Combined with the smooth and fast hull lines Zoom8 offers more
enjoyment, more fun and far more speed than its competitors.
